I joined the Y's book club, meeting once a month. You know the formula.
Our first book was The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I am not a fan of sweet books like that as a rule.
Our next selection will be My Heart Remembers by Kim Vogel Sawyer and then for May we read The Shack by William P. Young. I think of the two, Ill enjoy the second best.

Anyone read any of these books?

Im dating a guy, just a guy. He is smart and witty and a couple years younger than me. I don't think that makes me a cougar, does it? Please say it doesn't.

No, that does not make you a cougar. Now if he was 10 years younger..hmm, maybe! :)
I read The Shack, well read about 1/2 of it and gave up. I didn't enjoy it, however TONS of people have so I am probably the minority there.

I was pretty sure I wasn't in danger, S but thanks for the info.
Guess I'll give the books a try regardless. I couldn't finish the last one.
Anonymous, I have so many men interested, I can't keep up so..yeah.

I usually don't read Nicholas Sparks - he's a little too sappy sweet for me.
I read The Shack. I didn't love it, but it did make for some interesting discussion on the nature of God.
Haven't read the other book.
My mother-in-law was 5 years older than my father-in-law. They were happily in love for more than 50 years. Date whoever makes you feel happy.

Smart and witty sounds like a good choice for a date.

I couldn't finish The Shack either, although S is the first other person I heard of who didn't like it. I just found it too hoakey, kinda like Nicholas Sparks.

I just "read" (audiobook) Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert and loved it. It's non-fiction: a skeptic makes peace with marriage. She wrote Eat Pray Love.

Wow, three people who didn't like the book. That doesn't sound promising.
Mom, a few years doesn't worry me and thanks.
AM, witty is good as long as they don't turn into smart asses along the way.
I do not like Sparks at all for the same reason. Gooey. I think we will be past some of the women who lean toward gooey after these two books. I choose the tenth book. Watch out!
