Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
-Howard Thurman
I am very sorry for your loss. I dread the day when I must say goodbye to my parents, if even for a little while. Be proud that your father raised a wonderful daughter. He did good.
I know you'll miss your Dad forever, but I hope that, over time, you'll remember the good times more than the painful end. Just about when we think we're all grown up, we lose a parent and feel like a lost orphan child again. Try to think of something that would make your Dad smile. I bet that's what he'd want you to do.
I grieve with you. I lost my father almost four years ago, and I think I will never stop missing him or thinking about him. You have a treasure hiding in your memories and dreams.
Butterfly, thank you so much. I am much better. It was shocking on many levels but we all are doing ok and as a good friend of the family said "It's good for him but bad for us". Mom, that would be what I'm afraid I'll need for awhile. And thank you so much.
Sorry to hear that. I remember when my grandmother passed away. I went over to their house where I'd been a million times and I video taped everything, exactly as it was. It didn't mean much for the first five or six years but with each passing year, the visuals of all the little details of their lives captured in that instant are priceless.
Im around Iamnot. Just not got much to say but thanks. Lorraine, thanks so much, dear. And no worries about being busy. I can't say it's been a riot around here in the good times. In comparison your blog is hopping!
I just realised you posted on mine and I came looking, only to find this sad news. I am very sorry. My dad sadly was killed in '69 when I was 15 but I remember him so clearly. Take time to grieve - as you woulod know already.
