Head feels like a balloon. Decongestant ingested and waiting for it to work. Blah...

The start of testing has been moved back a week due to so many days out of school for weather. The teachers feel we would benefit from putting it off. I guess I like the idea. I can't get too excited one way or another.

I'll be back later with more tantalizing details of...I'll think of something.

L is still agonizing over testing. Her results this year were just on the border of what she needed to earn her bonus...almost 10% of her pay.

Hope you feel better soon Greeny. My daughter just came home sick from school... I think this is the start of her allergy season. Usually just a week or two for her, have to start the Claritin or something.

The teachers here aren't held accountable for pay if their scores aren't good...yet. I can see it looming however.
I am all for accountability of teachers. I want the bad ones out and in some instances I can't for the life of me understand why these certain ones were ever hired in the first place but that a whole other post.
If our scores remain below a certain level for a certain amount of time we lose our accreditation and the state is all over our sh*t. Starting from the upper echelons all the way to bottom and me. It's not just a intimidation tool. And it's nothing new.
I give her tons of credit for working so hard to meet the standards.

I am not all that bad- could be worse and our allergy season is in full swing, too. The pollen count was astronomical.
Thanks for your well wishes.

We started testing yesterday. I can tell you all about being on the list.

Our school is on our second year of "corrective action" which means we are scrutinizing everything we do and everyone must attend extra meetings.

Despite corrective action we made AYP last year and hopefully we will again this year. And since math is most critical (and I am the chair) I am a little worried.

But I am not worried about the state taking over because they surely can't do better than we have or can. But we also have certain teachers who should get the hell out, too.
