Thoughts For Today

I am happy to be alive.
I am increasingly pleased each day with my children in all they do and are.
I am most thankful for my family who, even though we don't talk daily or even weekly, will always be there for each other in all the ways that matter.
I am not all that I would like to be but I am happy with what I am so far.
I am intrigued with so much the world has to offer and it's there for the learning if I can find the time to pursue it.

Ok,talk amongst yourselves.

Make us think, eh! Ok. I am doing lots of that lately.

I am very proud of my kids. they work hard and do well at school. They're also well rounded outside of school -Baseball, Soccer, Ballet and Theater.

I am very happy with my career so far. I feel like I have reach almost all my teaching goals in only 6years. Now, the question is what next? ED or Phd?

Like you, I am happy to be alive but I need to find some personal happiness beyond work and I will.

I am very happy, so far, with my pinkie finger on my right hand. He has not let me down. The left hand pinkie, well, that's another matter.

I am happy with my current selection of deodorant. Does the job without the hassle of attracting too many women.

I am happy for spell check, otherwise I would have screwed up the aforementioned word 'deodorant'.

I wonder about words like 'aforementioned' and 'heretofore'.

I dont take stock of what I have often enough. I tend to concentrate more on the negative, or the things I wish I could change. But thinking about it now, Im healthy, my family are healthy, I have a roof over my head and good job. I dont have any of the worries of those people in less financially stable countries. I suppose it is easy to say "Think yourself lucky you're not blah blah blah" when facing some of life's daily little problems or issues, but its these daily problems that are much much closer to home unfortunately. I think it would be good practice to take stock once in a while if for no other reason than to remind yourself you dont have things too bad. (Unless you do of course... then I would recommend against taking stock!)

Mathman, I understand you are having a time right now.
YOu have some wonderful things to be proud of and thankful for. I stand outside the realm of what you are going through now but have been where you are twice so I comiserate with you. Hope you aren't too miserable.
Hi, Mom. I felt the need to speak these thing. I have been negative lately and it's really time to look at what's important.
John, you obviously have some lovely addtions to the "blessings" list. I admire a man who keeps his pinky digits accountable.
Aforementioned and heretofore are too fancy for my blog and you know it. Stop showing off.....

Kimmyk, come back and try again. Blogger was not nice for me either.

Simon, it is so easy to never realize out loud what is truly important. If it's consciously considered, it's easy to realize the stuff we find wonderful in our lives. Somebody or something usually has to smack me upside the head to do it, though!
