First and Foremost

Spiritual detatchment. That's IT! I have spiritual detatchment. I have a lot of detatchment. I don't know how I got here. I'm not exactly referring to religion. I don't do religion well but understand the need for it, not necessarily for me. But the detatchment, that's not good. It would be hard to be human and remain detatched. Big thoughts....makes me tired already.

I decided in the past few days I would seek some new territory in the coming year and this was the item I chose. My lack of spirituality. Maybe there is a different word for it or I'm way off base but it seems to fit.

Kids are up. My thought process now turned to food prep. Ciao.

I would be only so lucky with him for a bother. I have someone so far removed from what I am for a brother we aren't even in the same hemisphere, it would appear.

Hi Greeny,

More factual words were never spoken than those that say " we must each find our own spirituality"....that being said, please allow me to say this.

Very few are void of spirituality, it's just lurking dormant waiting to be lived.

If, in our soul we know there is a power greater than anything we see, a place in our space that allows us to lay it all out in the open and ask for guidance. Then a willingness to be still and listen for the direction, how much more spiritual could anything be.

It's not magic, it isn't something we earn, it's a gift already given, we just have to be willing to recieve it.

I get good vibes from your post, words speak very clearly when we really pay attention.

I think perhaps you are in a better place with this than you take credit for.

May 2008 bring you clarification for things unclear.

Beth, I think a lot of women feel this way at one time or another. We have this great sense 'something' is missing. We are going through the motions with life or marching to a drum that someone else is beating.

Hmmmm, me thinks your mind is going to take you on an interesting journey in 2008. Looking forward to reading along.

Happy New year Greeny!

Hope you find that sense of spirituality you are seeking. It can be quite comforting at certain times.

Sometimes I think that the people who notice their spiritual detachment are way more spiritual than they are giving themselves credit for. Reading your posts, the things you love, the things you do, the way you interact with people...smacks of a pretty spiritual woman to me.

Just saying.

I'm just making sure I have spirit. I don't feel like it much.

Spirituality? I see a lot of spirituality in your posts. Religious pirituality ? Maybe, maybe not, but then why does that matter.
Spirituality is what you know in your heart, that feeling you get, weather it is the kids, family, a friend or maybe even the garden or a walk in the woods. Maybe it's just in doing what is right at any given time, doing that one thing you always wanted to do and feeling really good about.
Spirituality is about "the" spirit. Is that spirit some supernatural being, or is it really what you feel inside?
Good Luck and don't stress over it, you've got it.

I just read a wonderful book by Jane Goodall (the chimp research scientist) called "Reason for Hope" that spoke of spirituality, religion, and how humans relate to all aspects of the earth in a fascinating and inspiring way. Just her life story is incredible.

Happy New Year, Greeny. You've made a fantastic resolution. Most people never think about that.

where does one even go to get the map to begin looking for spirituality? Church perhaps... Books... Idk, but I am looking forward to reading all about your quest!

Happy New year... and may you find what you are looking for or at least have a great adventure looking! *wink
