Be Sure To Drink Your Ovaltine

Sonovabitch. A crummy commercial?
First I was balling over an episode of "Super Nanny" with the Vegas family and then on came a commercial for Carnival Cruiseline using Queen's "You're My Best Friend" . For a crummy commercial. It is the only song in the history of music that can make me feel good even when I'm down (read: PMSing).
Talk about a downer.

Anyone would think marketing people knew what they were doing, hitting people with the right advert at the right time... Do I have the male version of PMS if Im moody, grumpy and cynical all the time? Or am I just a miserable sod?

I wonder how many women are PMSing at any given time.
I wonder if marketing people do PMSing focus group.

We have the calendar marked for when my daughter hits that time. The day before the rest of us go fishing for a week.

to change the topic, the bobby darin song, beyond the sea, that carnival used for a long time in their ads, had a not so good ending for a cruise line, the singer vows never to go to sea again.

i chuckled every time i saw one of those ads.

The only song Greeny? What about "You've got a friend" by James Taylor? or "California Dreaming" by the Mommas and the Poppas? Or Honaloochie Boogie by Mott the Hoople (oops.. where did that one come from?) Have a great weekend!

Sandi, sorry to hear it.
My daughter and I run in and out of sync with each other, just for the hell of it and I say hell, I mean hell. Run now we are in hell.

Simon, cynicism is genetic and it has a huge fan base with my family as well. But then again, we are quite English...
Grumpy is anyone's trait. And moody, well, you might have something pms-y there. Are you feeling hormonal? Give it time and a couple of Foster's.

Mmmm, Foster's (slobbeerring)

Iamnot, if they don't they should. It could be huge for them.

I'd like to go fishing by melf and save the world the anguish, John. It's a good plan.

And Anne's timing couldn't be better.
I didn't know the song but that is funny. Wish they would have kept that one and left my beloved alone.

Markec, however much I want to be Mrs. James Taylor (the man is a genious and so smart), I don't do that song since we butchered it in choir.
California Dreamin- not so much.
Should I google Mott the Hoople?

Hi, mrbrownthumb. Thanks for coming by for your chuckle.

Kate, I meant I was feeling even more down because they had used my fav song as a stupid commercial music bed. As if pmsing weren't enough..
Thanks for stopping by.

No need to Google them... It just happened to be the first single I ever bought... as a wee young lad in England with my 45 pence. Other than that, it has no significance. :-)
