I believe that Louis Carroll was looking a the smile of a new moon in the sky when he invented the Chesire Cat. That's my theory anyway, but don't ask me what I assume he was doing when he wrote about the caterpillar with the hookah...

I thought of this picture all day yesterday. I don't care if it's real or imaginary. I love it - the moon is smiling.
