Needing Latkas

Kate was talking up latkas as is the rest of the Jewish community. My mouth is watering.
Gonna try some tonight.

Funny thing- I grew up eating latkas and I wasn't even Jewish.

Ignorant Englishman's comment time again - what's a latka? I know its food of some sort, but more details please.
I remember that last time I stayed up for over 24 hours. It was when I came home from Chicago. I know there was a 7 hour flight involved in that, but with the time difference I think my body lasted 38 hours or something stupid before I crashed and burned.
Have a good day!

Essentially they are potato and onion pancakes served with sour cream and/or apple sauce.

And I'm not Jewish, either.

These look yummy!

(just put some in that box you're sending, oh got any pecans this year to throw in too?)

Hi, Simon and you should know I welcome all questions- just don't always answer them.
Anne saved me the trouble. Simon, do you come across the pond often?
HI, Anne! Hey, it is pecan time again. You're a shapie, ya know. The latkas probably won't ship well though, ya think?

nataS, you sly devil, you. Oh, you meant the hash browns...

Do you ever eat at Waffle House?

They have the best latkas.

I see a spelling error.

It should read scattered, smothered and covered, as in Waffle House hash browns.

Uh, it's better not to point out even your own typos nataS. I knew what you meant.
And once again, my typo to Anne- you are a SHARPIE.

Kate, I bet yours would be better than these. AND, yes, please post your recipe... BTW, this was a stock photo people. I don't take pictures this well.
Simon, keep us posted on your return whenever it is...
Hi, Sandi! Peanut butter is always a good idea. It doesn't stack up to anything fried however!
