Tossing, turning, stretching, charley horses in calves, more stretching, replaying situations, more tossing, then...beloved drowsiness moving steadily through limbs and brain. Aaaahhh, sleeeeeep.
An hour later- "Mom, are you awake? Because I can't get back to sleep. What do I do?"
I believe I'll be hitting the coffee harder than usual this morning.

Argh!
I try to tell my kid if you're not asleep in an hour then get up and watch a little tv. Trying to stay awake takes the stress off falling asleep and they usually conk right out.
we got in at midnight and even though I was EXHAUSTED I couldn't get to sleep. I read to fall asleep. I tell my son that he can't come out of the room, he can read a book, and usally he falls asleep within the hour.
btw I was BEAT this morning.
I say they can play or read on their beds with the light on. Just stay in bed.
Why do we have to watch them be awake?
I've got some extra joe if you need it.
Good advice, Anne.
I like this advice even better, Jetpass. Maybe it would work better than drugging them with Benedryl?
I hear ya, too. I fell asleep on the couch yesterday after school and slept an hour. I just don't DO that!
AM, amen!
Yay, Lorraine! That's my answer besides some sleep!
Isn't motherhood wonderful! Good thing we didn't know ahead of time what we were getting into.
So right, Mom.
